About ITC Stylus Bold
ITC Stylus is the work of Dennis Pasternak, a principal designer at Galápagos Design Group, with 17 years of type design experience. Commissioned as a custom design for an architectural drawing CAD package, ITC Stylus is based on freehand architectural lettering from historical and contemporary sources. Pasternak points out that while the face emulates hand lettering, no pencil drawings or scanned art were used to create the design. ITC Stylus was drawn, digitized and refined on-screen, evolving in a completely digital environment. Aiming for a clean yet easy-going design, Pasternak incorporated the flow of handwriting by allowing the characters to bounce slightly along the baseline. ITC Stylus also has a bit of a “lean,” which Pasternak says helps readability. Available in regular and bold weights, ITC Stylus emanates warmth when used for extended text, and has a fresh quality at display sizes. |
